Hi! Syd here! I'm so honored you are here.

In 2016, as a high school student in Lincoln, NE, driven by ambitious dreams, a friend who knew of my passion for photography asked me to capture her senior pictures. Little did I know that borrowing a camera for that pivotal moment would set in motion a transformative journey in my life.

In 2017, I moved to Omaha, NE, to pursue a degree in Media Communications and Advertising at the University of Nebraska-Omaha while navigating collegiate swimming at the Division I level. Every spare moment outside of the pool, classroom, or library was dedicated to refining my skill set in photography.

In early 2022, I moved to Kansas City, MO for a change of scenery and the possibility of opportunities that a larger city might bring. I think this may have been the best decision I could have made! It led to the most rewarding new experiences and growth.

Now…I am still in KC running this business-covering weddings, brands, life & style, in addition to working for Major League Baseball, and the Kansas City Chiefs.

A few exciting recent moments…

-November 2023 I was nominated for photographer of the year in Wed.KansasCity. This city has provided me not only with some surreal opportunities, but also some amazing friendships of creatives in this field who inspire me daily. Every single day, I am in awe of the the talent here between the wedding industry and sports field!

-February 2024 I covered my first Super Bowl working for the Chiefs. Words can’t begin to express my gratitude for this opportunity. Back-to-back Super Bowl champions in my first two seasons working in the NFL feels like a dream.

My FAVORITE thing about this job is that my environment is ever-changing. Working in contrasting worlds, and bouncing from wedding venues to stadiums keeps me so passionate about this job. It also keeps me on my toes and my creativity flowing.

I am humbled by these new experiences and do not ever take them for granted. I know I have much to learn in this field (I probably always will), and I value the help of my peers and each day of growth with each opportunity. There are ups and downs with being a photographer for sure. I am thankful for both in this journey.

In life, seemingly small choices - like taking a friend's senior photos, playing catch in the backyard, or going on a first date - have the power to unfold into the greatest journeys. Each click of my camera meticulously weaves a distinct story, and I am looking forward to the continuation of this journey together, creating moments of magic along the way.

Bits and pieces of my story...

Behind the lens...

When I decided to pursue photography full-time, I was advised to pick a niche. The underlying idea was that clients would be more likely to hire me if I demonstrated excellence in a specific area of photography - the key to securing consistent work.

It was assumed that I would put all of my focus into weddings or sports since they comprised the majority of my portfolio. However, I struggled to choose one specialty because each held a special place in my heart.

So, I did the unconventional and became a crossover artist.

What I believe sets me apart is my ability to smoothly navigate between the contrasting worlds of sports, weddings, and more. Whether capturing the anticipation in a bride's eyes or the elation of a winning touchdown, each of my photographs reflects a blend of emotions and priceless moments.
